How many times during home construction do you wish you
could have had another look at something you saw on the production floor or in
the field? It probably happens a lot more often than you think.
Now there is a simple idea that could absolutely change the
way we look at modular home construction. It’s called the Go Pro.
What do you think of a video system that is cheap…under $300;
versatile…goes anywhere and is fun to use? I know, you can’t believe you didn’t
think of this before. And this they are passive, you don’t have to use your
phone to take pictures or make a video.
For the modular factory, every production supervisor, plant
manager and owner could wear one when in the plant. Not to catch someone doing
something wrong but instead to catch someone doing something right. For the
builder, wearing it every time they visit a job site can give your customer
peace of mind that things are progressing nicely.
With some editing software and a little work you can put
together quite a presentation for your customer. Everything from the home on
line to delivery to work during the finishing process can be uploaded to the
customer to help keep them informed. Your customer would have a great “Grandma’s
Brag Book” and show it to everyone.
The factory could have a library of videos stored in the
cloud for future reference just in case something occurs in the field that
needs verified during the production process.
