New Feature Being Introduced - Custom Floor Plans

For quite some time I have wanted to add floorplans to my blog but didn't want them to be just 'run of the mill' plans that you find on websites that were designed for site builders and not easily adapted to modular construction.

Well I found an Architect, Amy Ellison Ostberg, who specializes in modular housing, having designed many custom homes for home owners, builders and factories throughout New England and the Atlantic Coast regions. Her company New Hampshire Design Collaborative, LLC has produced homes for many builders and homeowners.

Amy has a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College, in Boston, Massachusetts. She has also studied Architecture in Rome, Italy.

After working for several large architectural firms as well as designing homes for builders for 21 years, She decided it was time to put her own stamp on design. In January of 2007 she started New Hampshire Design Collaborative, LLC.

Her passion comes from frustration with the poor design, function, quality and detail of the typical houses that are being built today. The classic scale and design having been stripped away leaving big ugly boxes. Big is not better, it is the function and detail of spaces that matter. All of Ms Ostberg's designs have pantries, mudrooms, linen closets and plenty of other storage; homes that work for every size family. In keeping with the timeless historic charm of New England architecture, she incorporates open plans and energy efficiency with modular building and other sustainable methods. Amy designs homes that are grounded in tradition for the modern, busy family.

Here is a 3D view and floorplan for the Martin, her first contribution to the Modular Home Builder blog:
