Modcoach Listens to You...No More Yard Dogs

First I have to say that as a former sales rep, the term used at several factories I worked for, houses that were built but abandoned by the builder that ordered them, was "Yard Dog."

Through emails and comments I have been taken to task that the term may not represent the quality of these homes to the many non-industry people that read and follow this blog and could possibly benefit from buying one of them.

At today's Modular Builder Breakfast I asked what term would be better to represent these homes. Between what I heard there and what was sent in by several builders I have decided to call them ...

Yard Units

This term both brings instant recognition to modular industry folks and takes that derogatory term away from what are quality homes that need a builder to introduce them to their new owners.

On a side note, Crowne Homes have sold two of the "Yard Units" of the four listed just a couple of days ago.

If you have a quality Yard Unit that needs promoted to builders other than your own authorized builders, just send over the floorplan and description and I'll post it ASAP.

You spoke and I listened. Thank you for comments and suggestions.
