Capsys Officially Leaving Brooklyn in March

Rising real estate prices in Brooklyn are about to force one of its veteran manufacturing plants to close down after 20 year in business. What happens to the 60 employees is another story.

On Monday, South Whitley, Indiana-based Whitley Manufacturing announced it had acquired Brooklyn-based Capsys for an undisclosed amount, just weeks before it expected to go out of business. The manufacturing process — which creates modular rooms that can be turned into homes — is being moved to Whitley’s Leola, Pennsylvania factory.
