Evaluating Your Website - Pt 6 of 6

Search Engine Optimization

Did you know according to the top three listings in indexed search results get 60% of the organic traffic?  I am not a SEO expert but one thing I do know is that Google rules when it comes to Search Engines.

Google has taken away the search engine optimization trickery with its new Panda and Penguin algorithms released in 2014. Google employs over 200 top-secret algorithms that they use to index websites. Below are some of the basic questions you should be asking your website to make sure you are doing everything you can for SEO success.
  • Do you update your website regularly? (every page)
  • Does your website have a lot of rich and original content on it?
  • Does your website employ commonly used keyword phrases used by your customers when they search for your category?
  • Does each page on your website have at least 300 words of descriptive text?
  • Are your keywords apart of your URL such as
  • Does your title pages and search description have your keywords in it?
  • Do your photos and videos have alt-tags on them?
  • Is your site mobile optimized with responsive design?
  • Is your contact information on each page?
  • Does your website have a site map?
  • Do your pages load quickly?
  • Do you have a good amount of in-bound links to your site?

I welcome hearing your thoughts regarding Search Engine Optimization when evaluating websites. Feel free to post your questions and thoughts in the comments section below.
