A Modular and Tiny House Disruptor Spreading Its Wings

Kasita, a 2017 AIA Design Award winning manufacturer of modular homes has received approvals to manufacture and sell its high-design, technology-integrated prefabricated modular homes in two new states.

It has been approved under the California Department of Housing and Community Development and the Nevada Manufactured Housing Division to build and sell its ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) in California and Nevada. Sales in both states will begin in early November.

Already named as one of the top 25 disruptors in housing this year, Kasita’s founder Jeff Wilson and his unique team of disruptors are not wasting any time in expanding beyond Jeff’s year long experiment in living in a refurbished Dumpster into one of the sleekest small housing units ever.

These homes sell for $139,000 FOB from their factory and can be used as a Tiny House on a foundation, an ADU, an affordable home or stacked to form multi-family housing.

If Kasita is successful in opening the market for their homes in the new states, look for imitators to follow suit.

The biggest compliment I can give them is they may not be disruptors for long as it looks like they will soon become mainstream!

Keep checking off those states Jeff. You will be a big player in housing sooner than you think.
