NAHB's 1963 House of the Future

This video was brought to my attention by Scott Hedges, principle at Bygghouse.

It seems we really have come a long way.

Thanks Scott for a trip down memory lane. BTW, I was a junior in high school in 1963.

Gary and Scott, great video thanks for sharing. Sounds like a field trip to Rockville is in order, find out how the house is doing today.

Thank you for posting this video, I found it very informative. How sad that today's NAHB has given up the leadership role in innovation in housing. Many of the modular building elements contained in the house are not available today but neither have they been replaced with new one. The modular bathroom is a great idea and should be used in every prefab house. The whole modular concept from framing to cabinets is now mostly lost.
