BUILDERS and DEVELOPERS: Get the Facts About MHI's "CrossMod" HUD Housing

The Manufactured Housing Institute has been promoting a new term, CrossMod, which has left many modular home factory owners and builders a little confused.

That confusion has caused some IRC modular people to question why they chose “Mod” to be added to a HUD product.

Recently MHI has asked for Federal approval of 2 story homes and multifamily projects to be built using HUD building codes not requiring local and state plan inspection approval.

Many of you have read the new regulations being requested by MHI and even then don’t fully understand how they might affect decisions made by new home buyers and developers.
