Former Darling of Australia’s Modular Industry Files Bankruptcy

Melbourne Australia-based modular builder Archiblox has gone into voluntary bankruptcy, leaving its customers unable to live in homes or extension projects they have already paid for.

The business ceased trading and terminated contracts with customers. Up to 30 employees also lost their jobs. Some have been waiting more than three years for their homes now face an even longer wait as they make insurance claims to finish their projects.

Homebuilders throughout their marketing area have also been left with deposits paid and angry customers.

Archiblox has designed and built modular and prefabricated homes since 2010, promising environmentally friendly builds of between 12 and 20 weeks. The company won a string of awards including for its design.

Final details of the bankruptcy have not been released at this time.
