The Salt Lake City Council has recently voted to adopt two new standards in development between the International Code Council and Modular Building Institute that establish best practices for off-site construction.
The Code Council and MBI designed their new standards in order to lessen the burden of delivering affordable housing, as well as help jurisdictions achieve sustainability and jobsite safety goals. This, according to the Code Council and MBI, will ensure communities can benefit from off-site efficiencies in compliance with local building and safety codes.

How does a Local AHJ adopt a new "standard" that has not been finalized as a new "Standard" by the very people that are still writing it?
